EV vehicles are meant to save gas!! Not time. If this is the case, and ultimately where we are headed then large corporations need to rethink their vacation policies. Im serious, if this is all to work.

Yes, an extra 30 minutes per 4 hour road trip (at most) is worth rethinking vacation policies

where do you people come up with these EV boogeyman’s from?

I agree that the infrastructure needs to continue to improve…I agree that government mandating car companies to switch to EVs without a market is a disaster…I agree that the costs for EVs is a luxury at this point (similar to anything, TVs, computers, iPhones, etc, all come down and improve over time) … but some of yall just nitpick criticize the most ridiculous things

Gas is a pimple on the arse of our budget. I realize that's not the case for everyone, but when we were shopping for another vehicle for my wife this year, we couldn't even justify 3k more for the hybrid. It was going to take my wife 17 years to make that back in fuel savings

My wife drives about 5-6k miles per year on average

I think hybrids are good for people that drive a lot, but if you don't and you run the math, you might never ever recoup the upfront cost.

If you truly don’t need a vehicle, EVs are an excellent option!

Have you ever been to a gas station during evacuation time? It's not fun

No, it's not, but it doesn't take 30 minutes to fill up, either.

Now imagine that 1000 times worse with hundreds of electric cars waiting in line for 5 chargers at a minimum 30 minutes if they work as designed. Let's say you are the 30th car in line and all chargers are working perfectly, your sitting in line 3+ hrs to just get to the plug.

But you have to plug it in every time you stop

Well for one the charging infrastructure will only improve over time. In 10-15 years there's going to be a lot more charging stations than there are gas pumps.

And if you're only argument against EVs is some doomsday evacuation scenario that will never come along for the vast majority of people. The only people it really applies to is the Gulf Coast and even then it's at best a once in a decade requirement.

Everyone is going to be driving EVs in less than 20 years.

The demand just isn't there at this time. These cycles always take way longer than people expect.

The average age of a vehicle on the road in the US is 12.5 years, and we are still producing gas and diesel vehicles with no real end in sight.

The Tesla Model Y is the best selling vehicle in the world. I'd say there's some demand.

Tesla has a lot of demand for people that want an EV, but there are also a lot of people that don't want one.

That may be true but clearly a lot of people do want one considering a EV is selling more than any other vehicle, including ICE vehicles.
