I also don't know anyone that is trained with firearms that ever want to be in a situation to have to use it.

I actually agree. I have a CCL and carry daily. I don't want to have to use it but I definitely will.

Good and bad are completely subjective.

If more people trained and carried and started shooting these thugs it would reduce crime

That is not true.

We have a local guy who had his car being stolen, and came out with his gun and began to shoot. That was the OK part, but robber backed out and took off, he ran after the car shooting, and hitting the driver.

Because he didn't let the dude leave, he's now facing charges for running after and shooting him. They consider the danger and the threat to your life gone, once that guy left the property and drove away.

Home owner might get lucky, a lot of hunters and rednecks in area that will be in his jury. But he put himself in the situation, by shooting a fleeing person.

Do i think shooting shitheads when they run away is ok, sure, but the law doesn't. Even Cops are told not to shoot at a fleeing suspect. Old days you could shoot them in legs, etc. shite changed.

Never put urself in a situation where you can end up being the criminal after shite is over.

I agree. I'd stop shooting once they were leaving. Hopefully that will never happen to me but if it does I hope that i take them down the first time.

Let me help you here. The dude that tried to rob the other guy = bad guy. I bet he's been arrested more than 5 times and been to jail on multiple occasions.

The CCL holder = good guy. He couldn't have a CCL with a felony, history of violence or mental illness. This isn't really subjective unless you are stupid or making excuses for violent criminals.

I cannot stress enough to please practice at the range. In situations like this you have a golden opportunity to eliminate an undesirable from the gene pool. Practice, so that you can make good shots. Dead men tell no tales.

I've been handling guns for 30 years and still hit the range every few months. Every gun is a little different. It's important to be comfortable with any of them that you own.
