Red flags should go up like a mother f----- if you see a Rolex sub in a $3,000-3,999 range.

Unless it is beat to hell and an undesirable serial number/year/ movement. I do not pretend to know enough about Rolexes to speak to cheaper ear models.

You'd have to find a 20 year old watch and it needs to be a No date.

I had a sub and loved it. If it is what you want go hard and buy a new one. I wear an Omega now and look at it many times a day and just dig it. Expensive watches are not for everyone for many reasons. But a man with a few high quality items will always be remembered kindly by those that inherit his things. My father in law left a Patel phillepe to his son, and it makes his son happy, and makes me happy when I see Him wearing his dad's watch. Ignore the haters, life is short.

I am a bit of a watch nut and have 5 total. In regards of Rolex, I am not a fan of any other than the Daytonas. For the money you would better off with either a Ball or an Omega. I have a Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon, an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, a Tag Heuer Carrera Dual Time, a Tissot Chronograph Automatic and a big Charriol Chronograph. My next buy will be a Paneria.

I'd settle for a pre-owned Submariner in good condition.

I own a Submariner. It sits in a safe and I never wear it. My advice is to save your money.

I own a Sub and a Yachtmaster- I wear the Sub (it's a beautiful watch) every day and maybe wear the Yachtmaster once a year. I would sell it but would get lowballed as the original box and all of the documentation that came with it was stolen when my home was burglarized a few years back (hence, the safe). They also stole my original Sub, the current one was replaced by my homeowner's insurance policy.
