Many who were in AIT with me were linguists coming straight from DLI. Most had lost all military bearing lol.

Most say recruiting is their worst time in the military. Spent my last yr of enlistment at USAREC. That wasn't a bad assignment.

I thought they phased out IC men. Maybe that was just Submarines though.

They did on subs... they were all grouped under ET. I think I heard that recently they're bringing back IC though.

Right after I came off active duty and went into the Guard they sent us to Ft. Polk for 2 weeks in August for annual training. Of all the places I've ever been this was perhaps the most miserable. Every single day at about 2 PM it would come a freaking flood for like 20 minutes and then the sun would come back out making the already high humidity and 100+ temps even more miserable. The inside of our tank was like a sauna.

I went from AIT to DLI... then spent 13 days driving from Monterey to Savannah... I was a hot fricking mess when I checked in
