I understand that. I've used photopass many, many times. But he isn't going to use his camera to take ride photos anyway. There are a lot of people that photograph in Disney things other than their families. So just telling him to use memory maker and leave his equipment at home makes no sense.

My advice is to rent a Panasonic LX100 from lensrentals.com for the week. It's small enough to cram in a pocket (as long as you're not wearing skinny jeans), has excellent IQ, and a fast lens. It just doesn't have a huge zoom range.
A 7DmkII is an awfully heavy camera to lug around all day at Disney. I wouldn't want to carry one of my D7000s into the parks if it was a family trip. Kids and wives don't want to stand around while you take photos (unfortunately!).
