I've actually had some help from another poster here who happens to be a friend of mine. When I googled my problem I found that this has been a somewhat common occurrence with these engines.

Forget all these assholes on this site. They've never worked on a car in their lives, except to put air in the tires of their Beemers.

Really cracks me up when this board shits on the newer Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, etc. when they've obviously never driven one. Beemers? Ya right, most of the OT can barely afford the boring arse used Camry or Accord they drive.

I can't imagine that it is. The cat was replaced in 2011. I'm not sure how to check it to find out

I had a 2002 earlier this year. Never had any problems like that.

Worst thing it had was an alternator needing replaced

Older 90s 3.8's had a horrible blow head gasket problem. OT sure if that would cause your problem.

Id try the injector and go from there.

Any particular reason you feel the need to slam me? My post was an effort to help the man eliminate what wasn't the issue, typically allows for finding what is when you do that.

Feel free to offer your mechanical advice in the topic, if you have any.

Any similar solutions to the problem shown during your search?

My old ford truck had a bad misfire in cylinder 2 too.this week. Lol
Like the guy said , get on a forum. Those guys are pros and will give solid info. Well worth ur time

My fix was a plug. The code didn't reveal it. It ran fine when warmed up

Agreed, those forums are specific and can have a wealth of knowledge.

these codes are the key to your problem...go by the autozone and let them tell you what the codes mean...they are almost always caused by some sensors that you can also buy there...

So far just people talking about the problem and no solutions.

But it does seem to be fairly common

It looks like one of those codes typically means that your engine has been misfiring...you knew this, so I wouldn't pay much attention to that one.

the other however, means that your engine is running lean...and that is a big deal. Don't run your engine lean or it will burn up. I would look for some easy stuff like vacumn lines leaking, etc.

I think someone like Meaujeaux2 can probably give you some pretty straight up info on what typically causes this.

Just going off of memory, the first is a misfire in #2 and the second is lean on that side. Replacing that injector is a good start

Run some good injector cleaner after that (3M, Techron, Redline, gumout regane)

Eta: You could just move that injector to another cylinder, reset the computer, and see if it pops up on that cylinder if you don't want to throw parts at it

He's the one that's helped me to do what I have gotten done so far. Also after reading the info I got from Google I was curious if anyone else here had any experience with the same problem
