Don't do anything else. You will probably just frick it up worse. Give the mower to your neighbor and explain what happened. Offer to pay for anything that needs to be done.

nah, it is not ruined...as the others say, just drain the oil and replace...
fwiw, DO NOT turn the switch or anything like that again while until you get the oil changed, as they crankcase may explode...
yes, it can wait until tomorrow...
I am curious...did you check the gasoline level in the crankcase with the dipstick or what?...

More than I should.
OK...from a different angle.
Snappers have a Briggs and Stratton engine. I am unfamiliar with the riding mower but used their rear engine rider many years. The rear engine rider oil fill is this.

No one could mistake that for a gas fill, so you must be using a traditional riding mower.
The largest engine you can get with a snapper rider is a B&S 20hp...which has a oil capacity of 64 oz.
Assuming the engine had oil at recommended levels how much gasoline could be added before gasoline was spilling everywhere? I am guessing a person could add about 12oz, at most...probably less, about a Coke can amount, of gasoline to the oil reservoir. So you cut your entire yard and found it reasonable to only require a very small amount of gas to fill it up?
Add this to the repeated questions about waiting until the rain stops, wanting to drop spent oil/gas mix onto your grass, unwillingness to answer how much gasoline you were able to add, and the sheer stupidity of unscrewing an oil fill cap which would have "OIL" stamped on it and have a dipstick attached to the cap...I think I have been trolled.

What kind of Snapper is this? Push, tractor, or zero turn? I run Snappers with my lawnservice and all mine have Kawasaki engines.
Drain oil and replace filter.

It was definitely a very bonehead move.
I called and told him right away. I feel really bad about it.
Any idea on how much this will set me back $$$$ to fix?

approximately $156,000.
That is with the assumption you live in Louisiana. Starting in Kindergarten and assuming a $12,0000 per year per pupil expenditure. (This also assumes you will not need to repeat a grade)

not much of anything, really...oil change is about it. if you really wanted to be on the safe side, you could change oil and then run the engine for a few minutes and then change again....
just be very thankful that the engine wouldn't start when you tried it...
