There is a connector that plugs into the resistor. Check it to see if it looks burnt/melted. It's a common problem with Chevy's. If that's the problem, the connector costs about $15. To check this only takes 5 minutes, so its not a big deal.

i honestly do not understand all of the recommendations for a bad blower resistor. When they go out the fan works on high speed only. Every damn time.

That's about a $10,000 fix right there man, you should probably just get a new car.
