Objectively is it fair to say it's a trash club? Just about everywhere in town is subceptible to having douches show up. Just depends on how many and how often I'd say. That said hope it's decent when I go try it out whenever that is.

It's a concept that exists only to cater to what most on the OT call the "douche" crowd.

This is true, but there is a vast difference between douches showing up on the off chance and actively promoting an establishment in order to purposefully attract them.

Most bars are like a restaurant that doesn't really offer any specials. They will serve whomever walks in the door. Club 1913 is the restaurant that has "kids eat free" nights and hosts magicians and has a cute animal mascot. Both will serve families with children, but one purposefully markets themselves in order to capture that market.

They need to reopen Triple A and the funny bone on Bennington. Good memories there.

I would love to have the Funny Bone back, but Bennington was a terrible location. I purposefully avoid anything around that area of College Drive. The Funny Bone would be way better around the North or South Gates of LSU, Downtown, around the Overpass area, or in Mid City on Government Street.

It's been a while since I moved away from Louisiana, but when did we get so many guidos down there?

Lafayette has always had them. At least since the 80s.

That place will do well. I mean, it's just like 600Main and The M. They did great! I'm just upset there's no punching machine.

Not true about Lafayette. I lived there back in 2003 and there was a handful, nowhere near the amount there is today.

Hurricane Katrina caused the Guidoization of Louisiana. Katrina displaced tens of thousands of Chalmations, who already embodied that culture and disseminated them throughout the state. When the Chalmations embedded themselves within the local blue collar "baw" class, the baws ended up picking up many of their fashion habits, which actually became pretty mainstream in much of America around 2008 thanks to the TV show "Jersey Shore". Because the Lafayette area's oil industry is home to more "baws" per capita than most anywhere else in the state, combined with a complete lack of a preppy "frat" crowd, it became Jersey Shore South. This meant that there were really only two "crowds" young white men could associate with. The guidos or the hipsters. In Baton Rouge, there is at least the third option of the fratstars as well as the ability to just be a "tweener" with bars that are essentially unaffiliated with any single clique.
