. Just becuase the car in front of you stopped and you stopped behind it, you didn't stop during your turn at the intersection. Every single one of you have to stop at that little white line as you approach it.

Grey area is when the white line is painted 15' back from the intersection, you completely stop behind it as the law says, then proceed forward that 15' after the line and go around the corner. Law says stop behind the line but you'll get a ticket if you don't stop a second time 15' forward at the actual turning point.

A good article on how to beat a red light ticket...

quote:

We proceeded to trial. The city produced one witness, the police officer who had signed the affidavit. On direct examination, he explained how the traffic camera system works. A corporation in another state called American Traffic Solutions operates the camera system, chooses the photographs on which to predicate enforcement, recommends the Montgomery police department initiate an action against a vehicle’s owner, and is paid for its work.

On cross-examination, I established that:

- He was not present at the time of the alleged violation.

- He has no photographic evidence of the driver.

- There were no witnesses.

- He does not know where Adam MacLeod was at the time of the alleged violation.

And so on. I then asked the question one is taught never to ask on cross—the last one. “So, you signed an affidavit under the pains and penalties of perjury alleging probable cause to believe that Adam MacLeod committed a violation of traffic laws without any evidence that was so?”

Without hesitating he answered, “Yes.” This surprised both of us. It also surprised the judge, who looked up from his desk for the first time. A police officer had just testified under oath that he perjured himself in service to a city government and a mysterious, far-away corporation whose officers probably earn many times his salary.

The city then rested its case. I renewed my motion to dismiss, which the judge immediately granted.

I wish more people fought them...

So the ticket came from Irving PD and not a private company?

Serviced through 3rd party but also had an officer from Irving PD information on it though.

The servicing company is based out of Arizona.

This is essentially what happened.

This is a mostly LA board but if anyone in DFW knows Bush and 114 service road intersection. This is where it happened.

Without them proving it was you driving they don't have probable cause to issue you a ticket.

at the start it shows a van stopped in front of me at the light, then makes his right turn. I follow behind him and start to inch forward to check to see if any there's any oncoming traffic (which there was not) and make my turn.

Should have stopped yourself.

A lot of the DFW area lights with cameras actually are run and manned by DFW police. Way different from La. cameras.

There was a cop and his badge number listed in the documentation from Irving PD

Get a cop signed ticket like this, ignore it, get in a world of trouble. This is an official police matter with access to your license and registration info. They can and do enforce the hell outta these tickets in DFW area. They will suspend license, impound vehicles, prevent renewals of license, all kinds of stuff all while adding up more and more financial penalties.

But yeah, sure, just ignore a DFW red light ticket reviewed and signed by a cop. You'll show them!

Op did right, just pay the fine, known cash grab and not worth fighting for most DFW residents.

Happened to me and got a ticket 30 years ago for it, still pissed to this day, did exactly as they'd taught me in drivers ed and stopped behind the line and got a fricken ticket
