I have a bite of some sort on my calf, I was in the warehouse wear I work moving some stuff that hasn't been moved in years. I saw several spiders and actually had to slap one off my arm but I didn't see any of them near my leg. Nevertheless when I got home I had a red bite mark which is now inflamed around the edges and it looks like there is a hole in the middle. Any help would be appreciated, Should I go to the hospital or can I wait til tomorrow afternoon and see my doctor.

You don't even need a doctor. Rub some benadryl and antibiotic cream on it, put a bandaid and wait a week. If it's getting worse and you see streaking, get to a doc.

Very serious. No joking. But the earlier you get them treated, the better. I know a guy that thought it was a pimple, and popped it. Waited days to go to the doctor. Turned out to be Brown Recluse bite, and he almost lost his hand.

Seriously, I would go to the hospital now through the ER, tell them to check it out.

it could be a staph infection.

go to the doc and get some Bactrim DS. Its a strong antibiotic they give for dog and spider bites.

My grandmother had what I can only describe as a hole on the back of her calf from a Brown Recluse bite. It was the size of a half dollar and about a 1/4 deep. The best way to describe it is imagine someone took a small spoon and just scooped out a spot on her calf. That's what it looked like.

the necrosis reaction isn't as common as a lot of people believe it is, but yeah. this probably isn't something to take lightly. it may be a good idea to seek treatment.

also, draw a circle in marker around the swelling so you can see if and how fast it is getting bigger.

Take a sharpie marker and outline where it is inflamed and red to, if the patch grows ALOT go to the doctor. I have been bit by 2 in my life, never went to doc, self medicated it. Just keep and eye on it

If it's a brownnie go to the doctors NOW.

Some guy I used to work with still to this day has a giant chunk of missing flesh under his skin from one of those.

I'd rather get bit by a rattlesnake I think.

Most "spider bites" are actually staph infections.

Go to a doc in the box, get some abx

most "spider bites" are simple staph infections

however, the apoptosis associated with a true BR envenomation is nasty and rapidly progressive.

I had one on my arm, it wasn't one of those flesh eating scenarios, but it never would heal. The dermatologist excised the area and stitched it up.

Serious enough to burn that fricking warehouse you work at to the ground.

A serious spider bite is one of my worst fears. shite freaks me out just thinking about it.

If it starts to look like this, rub some
Preparation-H on it and you should be good:
