my dad would do the Monday Morning March just to piss me off.

I was on the show twice, first for the Y-Indian guides, then for Cub Scouts.

I watched it until I found out SS and the other black kids watched it. I started watching Count macabre after that. Remember boys and girls, Baton Rouge IS a zoo.

If they lived there, I must have really been hammered all those times I went to their house in the mid to late 1970's (when I was in HS)

My uncle used to be a cameraman for WAFB and I remember he took me and some of my cousins to Buckskin Bill's house. As a kid I was completely star struck as his wife was giving us juice and cookies

Years later I waited on him and his wife during my waitressing days at Semolina's(pasta place on coursey). He was always polite to me

Buckskin Bill's show was one of the things I absolutely loved about coming to South La to visit my grandparents. KNOE in Monroe tried to emulate the Bucksin Bill/Bozo/Romper Room thing in the 70's with The Mr. Wonder Show. It did pretty well until he (Mr. Wonder, aka Ted Sallis - if I remember correctly) took some kids to a park, had them line up, then fondled them (and then quickly fled the country... like that day).

Hell yes, I did the Monday Morning March back in the day.
My older brother and sister were on the show when the fam lived in Southdowns, but by the time I was old enough, we had already moved to New Roads.

ok, Oscar.

ETA: Bill Black was in the New Roads Mardi Gras Parade every year.

The second parade.

Holy shite.

Mind blown.

I had an English Teacher in 6th grade, and his name was Mr. Black, and he would put quarters in his hands and shake them and say that.

I just accessed parts of the brain dormant for decades.
Did Buckskin do this? Is that where it came from?

Awesome show. Didn't he have some puppets on the show that sang Ray Stevens songs and Along Came Jones?

They lived north of Goodwood somewhere, across from Audobon.
