And you have nothing but your opinion to prove that DO = poor outcome. So you're fighting a losing battle.

LATigerdoc, you are a short sighted, bitter fellow. It is people like you who are trying to keep LA last in every ranking of places to live and quality of life. And sadly, you can't even see it.

To actively lobby against Monroe getting a school that increases the number of healthcare options in rural Louisiana shows you are part of our problem. You are insane. You and your entrenched ilk are our problem. And the people of Louisiana suffer due to your "protection".

You're like a monkey guarding your precious coconut. "Mine, Mine!"

The world of healthcare has passed you by and you didn't even notice. Your cheese has been moved but you are still running the same route in the maze.

In fact, you are willing to allow more pain and suffering to needlessly continue so your worldview stays intact. You are a bitter person and a true enemy of the state.

Your ignorance is widely acknowledged in this thread and past ones. The disservice you do your profession is profound.

You are going to lose this one and rural Louisiana's poor and elderly will win.

Won the battle?

1/3 of the country has approved privileges for full practice NP's.

In the coming few years, they all will. The state of Louisiana grants them medical licenses the same as US Allopathic grads (1 year of post-grad training required) while holding FMG/IMG to the standard of 3PGY training for a license.

This is the wrong group to try to keep out. You still have the residency interview door/gate to keep those who will inevitably suck (much like my LSUHSC-NO classmates who sucked) out of practice.

You are absolutely incorrect. I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years. Some of the most solid, easy to work with, non-autistic American physicians are DOs.

Shame on you for saying this you entitled prick.

Unmatched for a couple of years. I think they may have found a prelim spot here or there, but they never wound up in a residency on track to be board certified. And it was a low number. I can think of maybe 3.
