Obviously not the same daycare, but kindercare is a franchise. We pulled our son out of the one he was going to in Houston. It was the knly one near us with an opening at first, but it just felt a little unorganized and crappy. Wife then heard some very bad things at work. Luckily one of our waitlisted places had a spot at the same time and we moved him. It is a much nicer place that runs a much tighter ship.

Oh I worked at Kindercare and it sucked. The do not pay well so it is entirely likely that your kid is being taught by someone who makes min wage. They choose the applicant who will take the least pay, not who is the best candidate. ( I was working a special position in getting one set up and a Kindergarten and older class, not as a regular teacher or director.)

I have my degree in elem education and worked with a director who did not even have a degree and who could not even speak properly. Another teacher was equally stupid and preferred the "babies" because they could not tell their parents what a biotch she was.

We were taught that cleaning supplies where supposed to be about a liter of water with a few drops of bleach and that is all - nothing more. The lunches were not quality food and they often omitted stuff that they were supposed to be serving by law, cutting juice with water or Koolaid, etc.

It is a franchise and maybe that location has good people but I can assure you it is appalling to think that the teacher of the 3 yr old class has 14 or more kids and that teacher likely makes min wage.

It may be fine but then again look closer at details of it and look at the teachers. I would show up unexpectedly to see if I could get a tour as opposed to scheduling one where they make sure the extra kids in a class are somewhere else and stuff like that.

If you can talk to a teacher there (and not just the director or secretary) ask them how the company treats them and their honest opinion. If they are honest then you may hear the best info of all to guide you either there or well away from there.
