As a kid KATC I believe, had a morning show done in French.
I'm gonna BUTCHER this spelling. My apologies. Pas' patout' was the name.
Can someone help me with how it was actually spelled, and it's English translation.
Thanks.

Passe-partout (or passepartout) is the French term for a mat, a paper or, more usually, cardboard sheet with a cutout, which is placed under the glass in a picture frame. A picture (a photo or print, drawing, etc.) is placed beneath it, with the cutout framing it.
Google is hard

passé partout -
And the definition is intriguing for this morning show, and probably a double entendre
It can mean "master key" or "skeleton key" - and it is also a type of framing.
So, the morning show could be the (secret) "key" to your day or it could frame your day.

It's on KLFY channel 10. I think they still have it. I watch Good Morning Acadiana on KATC.

Non-googled reply..
Passé Partout transliterated is "back and forth".
A large two person bow saw is known as a passé partout since you and I would pass it back and forth to work it.

My mom (60+ no pics) is wowed by the knowledge of this site. Her dad had one of these.

I thought it meant (loose translation) "go everywhere."
Your version makes more sense - as to go back and forth, talking about current events.

Yep i can't imagine cutting down huge cypress trees from pirogues with one of those bastards. We have a couple of antique ones with swamp scenes painted on them.

Especially when you trying to be an a-hole, but don't know that you're Googling the French meaning of the phrase and not the CAJUN French. They are not the same.
In Cajun French, it refers to a two-person crosscut saw.

i originally posted this but thought I was wrong. This is what I was always told. I assumed it was named after the saw to mean"working together", as in community

If I remember correctly, when i first moved to Lafayette as a kid. They had a cross cut saw on the studio wall on Pass Pat Tout on channel 10.
