Okaloosa Island condo recs?

I'm doing research on VRBO and trip advisor on condos located on Okaloosa Island but wanted to see if anyone had any first hand experience with any condos in the area. Any you'd highly recommend or advise to stay away from?

We enjoyed our stay at the Destin West Resort.
They have bay side condos and beach side with a nice walk over bridge connecting the two.
The bay side had some very nice pools and a lazy river. The beach was not crowded either.
There was a hotel next door(Ramada I believe) that had a pretty good pool with a waterfall and swim up bar and the destin west people are allowed to use the facilities there as well.

Thanks. Was the pool/lazy river area crowded? The Destin West Resort seems to be one of the bigger facilities on Okaloosa Island. I like the amenities the resort offers for the family but we're trying to avoid the crowds too, which is why we're not staying in Destin.

If you have kids, go to Waterscape.
Destin West is on both sides on 98. You have to cross the walking bridge to go to the beach (if you are on the bay side) or vice-versa to use the lazy river.

We prefer Okaloosa Island over Destin.
The Summerlin and Pelican Isle are both really nice.

They just opened a new attraction (Wild Willys) and stay out of the water if there is a red flag. Nothing worse than leaving vacation without a loved one.

El Matador. Sits right next to the military beach head in Ft Walton, so not as much hustle and bustle. It still gives you easy access to Destin and Ft Walton. Most of the condos are privately owned and offer various amenities, which you can pick through. Been there a few times.
