Not sure if this has been posted, or is even credible:

Let's talk about shooting down planes in a post 9/11 world.
Let say that a 777 leaves Atlanta headed for Denver. At some point the plane turns off it's locators, loses communiction, climbs to 45,000 feet, and turns 90 degrees heading directly for Chicago. Does this plane get shot down? How long would that take?
So lets look at MH370. Were there any targets that would need to be protected in the mainland of Thailand along the plane's new course? Then past that point, which countries could have seen this unidentified plane on their radar and taken action?

How about they only hire pilots that are married with kids and then we hold their kids hostage until they land where they're supposed to?
They could use their pets in the absence of kids.

Us: Well, we saw the Tsunami on satellite, but they didn't ask us if there was a Tsunami coming, so we didn't tell them about it, After all, it wasn't coming towards California.

Wow if it made it that far it's in Somalia.

777's hold a lot of fuel. should have records of how much fuel it had on board, correct?
Posted on 3/18/14 at 10:00 am to monsterballads
enough for 7.5 hours at cruise I think.

what fun games to play on your homemade flight sim, you have X amount of gas where can I go?

Is it possible that cyber hackers from a terrorist state or a terrorist group hacked into the plane's system and changed the flight path to bring the plane to an undisclosed location?
Iran pulled it off with one of our stealth drones a few years ago.

I would think it could reach Somalia. If he want to go meet the masters of hostage negotiations, join the Somalians.

What makes you think it could get to Somalia? Drafting another 777?

would 7.5 hours of fuel get them there?

That would also help them avoid radar detection, as the radar operators would simply think that they were the first 777.
JUST KIDDING.

I tried flying a 747 on my flight sim, but after a few minutes of flying over the ocean I got bored.
I have FSX, and a yoke, throttle sticks and rudder pedals. Only two screens though, no where near as nice as the set up that pilot had.
Plus I still can't land the 747 at all.
I just got helicopters down.
The only thing I really use the sim for is like flying to Louisiana and Mississippi airports to get a feel of the area.

Don't know if this has been posted, and if it has, oh well.
Simple Exlpanation of Possible Outcome by Pilot
Basically says a simple electrical fire could have caused it all.

Your repeated use of the emoticon coupled with your extreme lack of aviation knowledge is the only thing funny you have posted.

No he doesn't read any of the info, he just posts after peoples discussions when he can't grasp the subject they are talking about.

No but what is the point of naming places the plane couldn't reach?

Not that link, but that speculation has come up. For all involved that may be the best case scenario for the country and airline. Of course no scenario looks good for the passengers.
