A lot of our smaller local depts are attempting to switch exclusively to Tahoes. It's going as well as expected.

Today in BR on Airline Hwy I saw a car transporter full of Black Chevy Tahoes in police trim (searchlight mods on A-pillar).
Black units for a PD? Fed cars? FBI?

They use the Chevy SS, badged as a Caprice interceptor. Kenner Police have about 20 of them at least.
Supposed to be the fastest police interceptor ever built in US, and has great fuel economy. I haven't had the chance to ride in one yet though.

Could be for a local dept and decals will be added once received. One the state bid list for govt vehicles the Tahoe is only 1k more than an explorer And maybe 2 or 3k more than a Crown Vic
