Similar thing happened to me when I was co-oping in Georgia. However, I was an idiot and had the carbon copy with me, so I brought my own paperwork to pay the $120 fine.
On the plus side, it was my last work term in Vidalia and I didn't have much desire to ever go back or find out years later that I had a bench warrant from 2008 put on me.

They'll tell you to quit calling and a week later you'll have a SWAT team kicking in your door.

You probably have a bench warrant out for your arrest

Have you called? If you call and they don't have a record of it, congrats on the 'get out of jail free' card
This. A buddy freshman year got an MIP while tailgating. The campus fuzz that got him turned in several from that weekend, and somehow in the paperwork progress, his citation got lost. He finally got in contact with the officer who issued the citation and in a rather nice manner the officer tells my buddy "I appreciate your honesty about this. But you have a few options... do you want to come in and let me rewrite that citation or can we both chalk this one up to life experience and I will never catch you doing that again?". One of the cooler/nicer experiences I have had around police. Keep checking back with them, but it sounds like yours might have been lost.
