Officer still hasn't entered my ticket into the system...

I got a minor speeding ticket back in early November. I've been trying to pay it early and take the driving class to get it removed from my record, but they still haven't entered it in the system! It was handwritten, and apparently those take time, but my court date is in early March.
Is there some kind of statute of limitations on how long they can take to enter a ticket into the system after the date issued?

That is a long time, usually it is less than a month

Have you called? If you call and they don't have a record of it, congrats on the 'get out of jail free' card

You did not just ask this.

PS I got a ticket in December and my court date was last week. Your court date was 5 months out? never heard of that

Ours are done on a computer now and printed out right there in their car.

Some have computerized printed tickets now. It's a little handheld device that looks something like a debit/credit card machine. They swipe your license on it and enter whatever they need to then print a ticket from it. Last one I got from BRPD was like this a few years ago.

I got a ticket a couple of years ago thru the EBRSO and wanted to pay online. Never could get the information to come up. Called once a week until the week it was due by and it was allegedly never in the system. Finally took off work to pay in person and like magic it was there....2 days before the deadline. Its bullshite, but par for the course with that organization.

Happened to me in mississippi. The ticket will 99% not get entered. Keep checking but you're probably in the clear. It pays to be polite and respectful to police.

This. OP, don't write it off as a "get out of jail free". They just have a shitty system and don't get the tickets in early enough. Stay on them and try to get it paid before the court date, but if not, I wouldn't just skip court.

Tickets don't get entered sometimes. It's paperwork. Paperwork gets lost. I wouldn't show up for court because the ticket was never entered

I think he meant he wouldn't NOT show up for court just because the ticket wasn't entered.

Yeah, apparently that's the norm now.
It's entered in the system FIRST, then the ticket is printed for the alleged offender. This ticket I received, however, was a hand-written citation that has to be manually entered into the system after the fact.
Thanks for the info/advice, everyone. I'll keep calling in like I've been doing. Hope they forget about little ol' me.
