Well, guilt by association and agreeing to take over the remediation of the Love Canal site.

That lake is deep but I bet none of those engineers eat any fish that come out of it near Buffalo!

That sucks. And then the onshore managers are trying to beat people over the head for this I’m sure.

There are many in this country who don’t want this technology to work. And they will undermine it if it does because it removes the stick they use to drive their social agenda.

Our platform is in hospice care, that’s a nice way of putting it. Lots of piping integrity issues. Management knows all about it. It’s cheaper to kick the rock down the road then to pull the plug presently, but eventually you’re going to have to do it.

Plant life requires CO2 to exist/ grow/ thrive.

Why do environmentalists fail to understand this most basic principle of agronomy/ science.

Plant life absorbs C02 and transforms it to 02.
That is all the capture nature requires

Lol, welp guys hang up the phone. We got an expert here that knows better than the environmentalists.

Maybe there's too much CO2, just like you can have too much oxygen in the air and die above 22.5% oxygen levels. Maybe plants do fine with slightly lower levels of CO2. According to scientists, CO2 levels were lower pre-revolution and plant life did fine then too.

How about that "basic principle" you're referring to hahah.

I work for a startup that are planning billion dollar clean Ammonia, Hydrogen, Sustainable Aviation Fuel & Renewable Diesel and CCS injection projects. Each project captures CO2 emissions, not DACs, but capturing emissions right off pipes (99.6% of what we capture is CO2 right off exhaust pipes and not 0.04% like DACs straight out of air) and transferring to carbon sinks to inject. Which this part of the country has many permeable reservoirs for it.

These projects would in no way be profitable or at least decently without tax credits. I know. I create the complex financial models for the projects and model the tax credits daily. The 45Q, 45V, and 45Z credits.

Government has to do them otherwise no one would partake in the projects.

Because the eco-nuts just parrot what they hear from whatever circlejerk forum or social circle they’re apart of.

The answer is that the environmental "scientists," of which you speak, are getting paid a lot to say this.

It's $cience

I'm waiting for baws to realize eviro nazis hate this stuff and they flip to going full bore defense of CC.

Just need AOC and one or two other coastal elites to demonize it as the wrong answer because it indirectly perpetuates O&G production/consumption (or so they believe).

It is. The office doesn't give a shite because they aren't out here dealing with it day in and day out. Its been this way on this platform since 2015. We have not stopped doing projects. At least when we were BP, we got a break.

But they will get a feather in their hat and a gold star for catching cow farts now, so what the frick do they care!?

It's their funeral. We're in a far better position to withstand an agriculture crisis than they are.

They’re all in it for the subsidies and when this fad is over they’ll turn these plants into making another, more profitable product for cents on the dollar.

like how the same posters will say that carbon capture is a total waste because all of the carbon capture plants combined won’t capture even a fraction of a fraction of the carbon already captured by American forests but also say that we are going to build so many carbon capture projects that all our plants are gonna die because we removed so much carbon dioxide lmao

Mine was more a joke on the fact that government solutions conveniently always seem to start the next crisis down the road. Today too much carbon, in 100+ years we will have taken away too much, and the cycle continues!

Well they kind of had to take over the remediation site because they owned the company (Hooker Chemical) that was responsible for it. Occidental Chemical was not involved with the decisions to store the hazardous waste in a reckless manner or part of the decision to sell that land to the school board. That was Hooker Chemical who Oxy happened purchased 15 years after the fact.

I seriously doubt the engineers or anyone else would eat the fish out of that lake. Regardless it’s still pretty disingenuous to try and associate the Oxy brand as the ones that created the environmental tragedy that is Love Canal.
