His explanation doesn't make him sound any less moronic.

A po-boy from Poor Boy Llyods beats any poboy you'll find in new orleans, dont see what the big deal is here.

That's a fair assessment. Also similar to a few burbs of Houston and Dallas.

Not at all IMHO. Being from BR, I hate Metairie. Absolutely no neighborhood feel at all. You can have a nice house 2 blocks from Vets and 300 feet from a restaurant. In BR you get true Neighborhoods. For the record, I like NOLA alooooooot more than BR. That is why I now live here But I aint going to let people have a good ole fashioned NOLA/BR pissing match without BR getting some shots in

I mean, do you really expect people not from LA to know about Lafayette?
I think Lafayette is on the "if you haven't heard of it you're probably an idiot" list.

Comedians do it. Salespeople do it. Rockstars do it. Anyone who travels alot and performs the same routine to different audiences around the world will occasionally have a slip like that. Doesn't bother me. Now if he said Denham Springs, I would be offended. But Nola is a top travel/convention destination in the world.

They are good. I don't think they're the best though. I just had heard he was going to the Chicken Shack. That seemed very logical and would definitely be some good eats. So I was just confused by it is all.
At least he didn't go to something like IPO or something.

Do they read a speech from a teleprompter mentioning the city they are in and the high school where they are standing seconds before their gaffe?

He probably was thinking about the new V-Live strip club in Nola. Bad timing.

Hahah. Shush. I just don't think it's a big deal. Getting the city wrong is a common slip-up. There was a commercial for Southwest a few years ago like "Wanna get away?" when the comedian messed up the city.

He didn't seem to have a teleprompter for todays informal visit. Did he? Seemed like he was just rambling and chatting it up. I only watched the Ben Simmons and the Thank You New Orleans clips.

I guess thats a decent point. Metairie is more mixed. I mean, there are places like that in Birmingham too, but there are probably more closed off neighborhood specific zones areas in the ham than metairie. The whole difference in topography really throws me off though. Need another city that is flat and lacking of things to do outdoors to compare south BR to accurately.

Sometimes those glancing blows are more painful than a square shot.

Obama is probably wondering why the Mayor of New Orleans met his plane at the airport but introduced himself as the "Mayor of Baton Rouge"?
