The fire claimed the lives of her father David Terry, her 3-year-old sister Layah, and her brothers, 2-year-old Michael and 11-month-old Donavan. Although she survived, she was burned on more than 75 percent of her body. Officials say she was found next to her father, who used his body to shield her from the flames.

Man, i tell ya. Whoever is cutting onions up in here needs to stop.

This year for the holidays, Dolder bought a tree to hang Christmas cards on. She said Safyre was excited and hopes to fill the tree up with cards.

Yes this was already posted but I say let it be reposted

Means more people see and maybe send her a card. That poor child. I hope she gets truckloads of cards. On top of her losing her family....she had to go through an extreme amount of pain with those burns and will continue to do so with future surgeries/skin grafts/etc. Burn treatments can be incredibly painful....even with pain meds. Some so painful they go to surgery instead so they can be fully sedated.

My heart hurts just seeing her pic, what an incredibly brave child.

That is what brave looks like....not that Caitlyn Jenner bullshite.

that's fine. I think the little girl deserves a little more attention, if that's all this post does.

I'm getting the girls to write her a card each today, this is so touching.

Reminds me of this kid Corey I went to school with. His entire family died in a trailer fire, his dad threw him out the window while he was on fire and was the only survivor. He lost all of his fingers and had a special hand that he could write with. I went to school with him from elementary to High school.

That's heartbreaking.

My little girl is same age and has been all over making Christmas cards and lists last couple weeks.

We'll be sending one in the mail this evening.

Be thankful for what you have.

I really don't get the assholic response of germans all the time. Sure, if it's a big story..

I just did a search myself for this and don't see it coming up in the results. I am sure it was posted, but searching common words won't find it for me.. How about link the original post to the thread or be more useful than just a typical "germans" Is this girl "german"

Any ways, thanks OP for bringing attention to this story. Will send a card.
