I moved 2 weeks ago. I hated myself and all of the shite that I've accumulated over the years.

I hate moving.

And don't get me started on the guys that helped me move bitching about the amount of clothes I have.

Once it is all in boxes, I don't know how it all fit in the house.

Just wait until you have to unpack it. You have just begun to hate yourself.

I called my mom after 3 days and begged for help. I got to the point that I was just kicking boxes around so that I could get out of the door to go to work.

And I threw a lot of shite away.

I've been on a campaign to reduce the amount of stuff that has accumulated at my house. For the past 2 - 3 years I've thrown away/given away pickup loads of items that I no longer need or use. I try to only bring in items that will be consumed or otherwise used up and discarded. Losing battle - I think there's more crap here now than when I started.

Moving this Saturday, and the movers packed it all up today
Just imagine if you had to pack it all yourself. You will want to throw away lots of shite when you unpack at the new house.

Think about it for a minute - for sure in my case, almost every time you leave home you wind up returning with some sort of item that needs to be stored someplace in the house.

Moving on Saturday as well. Moving wife's crap to Boston for a year and my crap to a new place in NYC. I told my wife that whatever furniture goes to Boston does not come back.

You aren't living with your wife?

Moving is when I purge myself of my useless crap that I've collected. I've lived in my current house longer than any place since I went off to college. I can't wait to move at the end of the year and toss everything . Now I make enough money to replace it with quality stuff

Thanks Be, my moving days are over. When I leave my current house, it will be feet first.

Guy I know just moved to Denver, when they were packing their old place they found 24 boxes that were still packed from moving there.

If they lived without those 24 boxes for 3 years they should just toss them

I've been trying to be more mindful of all the stuff I have.

And next time I move I will use it as an opportunity to purge of a lot of stuff I don't need. Motivation will be that it is less stuff to pack and move and unpack
