Mayor of Ellick to possibly take down another offensive statue.
I guess the statue is why Alexandria has the highest per capita crime rate in the state.

With its central location in the state and the red river, Ellick could've fared a lot better over the last 30 years if not ruined by the dems. Lotta culcha there too

We all knew this shite was coming when Mitch opened this can of worms.

Time to start renaming Cities and Parishes too.

Ellick really is the strangest town. They are truly content with chain restaurants, lack of entertainment, and lack of culture. It is the most boring place.

You could transplant the town into the middle of the vanilla Midwest, and nobody passing through would be able to tell that the city used to be in Louisiana.

There is also ZERO vision by anyone in charge around here. Alexandria is a town run by people who are content and perfectly happy with mediocrity and getting nothing done. There is no ambition from the majority in this town to make Alexandria anything more than it is now. Not shocking the idiots downtown would focus on something like this just to take attention away from all the other crap.

Symbolic. Had Jackson fallen the first time there may be no NOLA nor US. The toppling of Jackson would signify a point of regression where NOLA and the US too may be on the way out as they were constructed.

I have family from there. I've heard multiple excuses ranging from "the Pentecostals of Alex keep businesses out", to "the good ole boys embezzle all the money" and everything in between. First and foremost, they have a terrible crime and drug problem that removing a confederate statue will not solve.

That's why everyone is moving out to Woodworth or across the river. I hope to be out of here by the end of the year myself. There a lot of things caused by a variety of issues, however to me, being someone who lives here in Alexandria but is not actually from here, a lot of those problems are compounded by the majority of people here just not giving a damn.

I'm sure that's your dream, but believe me, it will turn into a nightmare.

Isn't there enough honor to go around, this is unreal. What day and age are we living in, where you can tear down monuments because people are offended?
