I've been working the system for years. Actually got a parking ticket downtown a month ago, and they didn't boot me. I paid the parking ticket, but haven't paid a single speed camera ticket.

I'll update the thread when I get the tickets in the mail. If it says to pay the company in Vegas, it is going in the trash

Eta: They were both around 50 in a 35. I run these streets

what if it's arizona? =)

Have they tried hitting your credit report with it? I know that's a threat they use.

A girl I'm seeing over in Uptown got booted this morning outside her place for some unpaid speed trap tickets.

I have two outstanding ones from the speedtraps on Carrolton, and I'm not trying to be booted when I'm staying with friends Uptown...

We need someone with real knowledge of this shite to weigh in because I've heard all sorts of answers.

IDGAF about my credit. All of my shite is paid for, since I'm an OT baller and all.

I usually park strategically so the camera vans can't scan my license plate

It has been rumored that the camera tickets are only traceable by your license plate, and if you go get a new plate, then they will not be connected to you any longer.

Just a rumor, I have not personally tried it.

Congrats on giving the City of NOLA 250+ dollars.

Are you serious about that price?

Step up to my level then baw.

I have about 400 bucks in parking/speed camera tickets on my old plate.

Woke up one day and it was mysteriously "lost" or "stolen". Went to title place in Metry and got a new plate no problem. This was a year ago. Not entirely sure if this method still works as I've heard rumors that you have to provide a police report if you are claiming your plate was stolen.

Getting a ticket without a boot means nothing, the people giving tickets are the ones doing the booting. They may call for the boot van, or they may not.

I park on the street in NOLA every single day so I can't afford to play around and risk getting booted.

This thread should be stickied bc it pops up every week or so.

Anyway, you can ignore the ticket if you don't plan on parking in the city bc the city will boot your car. Not sure if Nola reports to a credit bureau or not. But it's not a real ticket like a cop would give. There's no court, no bench warrants for no payment, no insurance ding.

On a related note, what happens of I don't pay a ticket that I may or may not have received from one of the stationary speed cameras? Is that a civil ticket or a criminal ticket that will trigger a warrant if I don't pay? I've heard differing stories on penalties of this hypothetical situation.

Anyone? Bueller?

The City can't report you to any credit reporting agency and if they do a nice class action lawsuit against the City and the company administering this ticket taking scam would provide very lucrative results.

The reason they can't hit your credit report is that they don't know who was driving the car.
