What does "most livable" mean???

The "city livability" award is intended to highlight mayoral leadership in creating programs that improve quality of life in American cities.

Former mayors selected the winning cities from a pool of more than 200 applicants, according to a news release. Members of the conference singled out New Orleans for Landrieu's homicide reduction program NOLA for Life, created in 2012 in response to the city's historically high murder rate.

If it it means hot, humid, shitty roads, shitty public education, flying termite swarms, mosquitos, property taxes that have tripled in the last 3 years, mis-managed city government, fraud, traffic cameras, a crooked police department, street lights that don't work, and awful crime, then yes, we are one of the "most livable".

Pow, right in the kisser

ETA: Everything you said is the problem with Louisiana in general. Literally everything is better in Colorado minus the food

Well, for people in Louisiana that only know BR and New Orleans, BR has all of that minus the termite swarms, and property taxes (only doubled) and they don't get nearly as good of food or night life. It's all relative.

I wish there were more golf courses to play, but other than that, my life as a NOLA resident is pretty fricking awesome.

Thanks. I appreciate your perspective, and you're honesty on the response.

Sort of an apples and oranges deal to New Orleans, though. The casino situation excluded.

How are the courses at City Park and Audubon Park?

Audubon is awesome, but its only a par 62.

City Park North course is a turd, but they are supposedly breaking ground on the championship course soon.

City Park is long and is pretty cheap, but their greens are absolute shite. Pretty much un-puttable last time I went.

Aubudon is short but it's nice. Tough to get a quick round in on a Saturday morning though because it's so crowded.

If you're looking for something on the cheaper side, a place where you can use your driver, not too crowded and with decent greens check out Joseph Bartholomew at Pontchartrain Park.

Wasn't comparing the two cities. Just sharing a perspective of personal attachment to my hometown.

I don't want people to hate, just be realistic. I guess this kind of PR, legit or not, is good for getting these new businesses here.
