Honest question b/c I don't know of any big crane companies owned by a black person

Most of these are historical landmarks which are also architectural gems. Lee Circle is an iconic piece of art in New Orleans.

You just keep getting worse and worse with every post. I like and respect you as a poster but seeing you sink like this is pitiful. You are starting to sound like tuba and he is one of the least respected posters on this site. Do you really want to be associated with those types of posters?

Nice deflection
Nice try. The very idea that these symbols aren't themselves tools of oppression and were intended so is a century-old deflection and America's greatest example of revisionist history.

Slavery bad.

Let Wynton Marsalis remove the statues. He seems to be the driving force behind them since Half Moon consulted him about how they made him feel.

This whole thing is stupid...

Please tell me how the statues offend YOU

Please tell me how the statues stop 'progress' of black people

Please tell me how this is the solution to the race problems in our country

Irrelevant. This isn't about me.

I've not offered the removal as an answer to these questions. It's just common decency to remove them. That's all.

Hell, N.O. has renamed quite a few schools and streets over the years, seems things would be really going well for the cultured folks these days.

Decency???

The statue of Robert E. Lee was erected in 1884.... That's 132 years you stupid frick....

Where was all of the outrage over people getting their mother effing feelings hurt over the last almost century and a half?????? This is just absolute bullshite, you honestly can't justify this shite... Not to mention, our police force doesn't have funding/manpower, our roads are shite, and our education system is a joke... People need to stop focusing on shite that doesn't matter and start fixing the problems that do

Not a big history buff?

Assuming that the 6-1 committee vote in favor of removal even comes close to representing the opinions of New Orleans voters, I'd say that the justification is complete.

I shouldn't have called you a stupid f***, I apologize for that... However, I'm not going to turn this into a black/white thing, because I have no issue with anyone of any different color, so stop trying to back me into a corner with your BS

Numerous black mayors didn't bother to bring up the statues issue. My guess is none of them thought about the statues enough to be offended, just like 99% of the city.

Didn't the city get two of the monuments listed in the national registry of historical places within the last 20 years? That's the thing I don't understand. Asking for protection then turn around to fight for removal.

If you can link me to a single post of yours declaring that the statues need to come down in New Orleans before that idiot shot up that church and just so happened to be in a picture with a rebel flag I will 100% change my mind and support their removal. In fact, if you can link me to a single post by anyone on this entire website that denounced the statues I will before that event I will support the statues.

Actually it doesn't even have to be a post from this site, it can be anywhere.
