Nobody was stopping to help dog hit by car

I signed up to play pick 'em, but this really upset me this morning. It is pouring rain, and I see a dog that has been hit by a car, and it had been there a while. No one is stopping. I stop. It is a boxer mix older puppy, obviously hurt and very scared. A woman stops and brings me a big blanket. I load the dog in my car and take it to my vet. It had a fractured jaw and head trauma so the we decided to put it down. My vet was cool, and was going to do everything for free.
On a busy road, no one would stop to help an injured dog and I'm relatively sure the dog was dumped out.
You can call me a pussy if you want to, but this really upset me. Driving with the scared dog looking at me with his big brown eyes, yea it tore me up.

I know somebody who stopped and shot a deer that had been hit and was flopping around on the side of the road just to put it out of its misery and he apparently could have gone to jail for it.
You're lucky you didn't get bit BTW. Hurt dogs are very prone to biting people who are trying to move them.

Wasn't there a person trying to save a dog that got hit by a car and killed a while back in Baton Rouge? On Seigan lane or something?

The older I get, the more jaded I become toward humans and the more protective I become of animals and the environment. I'm not joining greenpeace anytime soon, things like that bother me increasingly more.
