Wife has a 2012 nissan rogue. We were on a road trip and while on the interstate the car started to lose speed. When I pressed the pedal the car refused to accelerate. Even if pedal to the floor. It was dangerous and didn't know if anyone else maybe has this vehicle and have experiences this. Looked online and many people had this issue. Anyone with knowledge on this please assist.

That's a gas saving feature buddy. Next time buy a real car.

This is the answer. I worked for Nissan for a while and had someone bring in their Altima with the same problem. Bring it in and they'll replace it.

Could be overheat/limp mode happens with the cvt. 1 time keep on trucking, happens often hit the shop.

What does the car being red have to do with anything?

My 2012 Altima did same thing. They replaced the transmission.

Fuel pump or bad fuel.. may have some sugar in your tank..

If it were a manual I would say that your clutch is slipping.

Found your problem, should cost $40-50k minimum to fix

Could be as simple as a dirty fuel filter.

I got a new cvt on my 2007 altima, didn't cost a penny

Torque convertor clutch slip. CVT are hard on TC.

Take to Nissan, get new CVT installed under warranty because they blow, trade car in and get another car less CVT trans from Nissan.

I'm still baffled by "this happened and I looked online and see it happens to a lot of people - now you other random people need to tell me what to do"

Or real life mechanics that get this same issue day in and day out with Nissan CVT equipped models that have yet to find it to be, "Oh you need a new fuel filter" or "It's just a MAF sensor will have you back on the road in under an hour".

Damn why all the Nissan hate in here?
