Newly released footage shows United employee push elderly man to the ground at IAH

The encounter began when Tigner received a boarding pass that was illegible. He made “numerous attempts” to ask for a reprinted pass, but United agents denied him one, according to the lawsuit.
He was told to continue on to the security checkpoint, where Transportation Security Administration authorities refused to let Tigner enter because of his poorly printed pass.
So Tigner went back to the United ticketing area and tried once more to get a new ticket, the lawsuit states. Two United employees, Alejandro Anastasia and Ianthe Phillips-Allred, allegedly refused to help Tigner, laughing and cursing at him, the lawsuit states.
Tigner’s attorney, William Hoke, told KPRC that when Tigner asked Anastasia for a new ticket, he replied with a smile, saying, “Can’t you see I’m busy?”
Tigner then told Anastasia to “wipe that smile off your face,” Hoke said, to which Anastasia responded with an obscenity.
Then, Anastasia “suddenly, unexpectedly and violently injured” Tigner, the lawsuit alleges.
Surveillance video shows the United employee checking his watch, turning toward Tigner and pushing him to the floor. Tigner remains there motionless on his back, his legs and arms spread out. Meanwhile, a couple of people who appear to be airline employees stand near Tigner.
But for about 50 seconds, no one appears to bend down to help Tigner, until a woman — identified by Tigner’s lawyer as a flight passenger and nurse — walks over to check on him.
A United employee later called 911, telling the operator, “There’s a 70 year old male that had fallen down,” according to a 911 call published by KPRC. When the operator asked the employee what caused the fall and if the man was awake, the caller said he did not know.

It's generally not a good look to leave your elderly passengers knocked out in your terminal with your employees just standing there.

There's no excuse for this. That said, I'd love to hear the ticket counter guy's version of the story. Something had to have happened during the initial check in.

He shouldn't have been standing there

Old guy was all up in that dude's face and then fell like a jinga tower when pushed back.
This was two years ago. Surely the employee has not worked for United for some time now.
I've never known a frequent flyer who was unaware that the app can display your ticket or you can print your own boarding pass as many times as you want with no assistance. Weird story.

Flew United from Bham to Chicago recently. They were great. No problems.

United guy is a dick but does that old fart really deserve over a million dollars? Pretty obvious he took a flop as soon as the United guy touched him.

I fly a shite ton for work.
No matter the airline, more and more flights have basically become subways in the sky.
Trashy passengers have 0 etiquette when flying. It's pathetic.

For a million bucks I'd let a United worker laugh in my face and push me to the ground.
So would everyone of you.

United stock.
Dump it now.
Actually may be a good time to pick some up; since they average about one of these incIdents per month, let's see where they are at the end of the summer.

Sure, and totally agreed. But from a liability standpoint that's totally on United. Plus their other recent run ins with passengers lately there's no way they want this to get anywhere near a court room.
I'd bet you'd take a push for a million dollars. Most people would I imagine.

The interviewed lawyer is upper lip sweating, he can taste the lawsuit payout so badly.
