Done the New Orleans/Baton Rouge thing for years and its never anything great. Any places besides New York that are really cool? If not in the US what about close such as the Caribbean? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Agree on getting out of town. I've done Nashville and Montreal for New Years recently. Both were great, although the latter was the coldest I've ever been.

I've heard of a quaint little spot that only locals frequent; Times Square. You should be in the company of a small intimate group for the stroke of midnight. Would highly recommend.
