New Orleans ZAPPS Potato Chips

Are not made in New Orleans.
I just learned about this after all of these years of being my favorite chips and I’m very upset about this.
They are from Pennsylvania

They were never made in New Orleans. Gramercy, LA. at one time.

Yep. Utz bought Zappa and Golden Flake in the past few years. Both plants are now shut down. The Zapps plant got wrecked by Ida so that will likely never reopen.

They have and still are made in Gramercy.
Mr Zappie sold to UTZ a while ago. His plan was always that his kids weren’t getting the business and he would sell it as his retirement, and all of his kids to my knowledge went to college and ended up with good careers.

They're at the dollar tree a lot up here. I get them and chew & spit them into plastic cups. They never have the crawtators tho, only jalapeño, dill and voodoo

They still make crawtatots flavour but they're never in discount shops. Since I don't actually swallow them I don't want to spend full price, so I'm stuck with the off flavours.

Chee Wees are still made in New Orleans as far as I know.
As already mentioned Zapps were never made in New Orleans, they originated in Gramercy.
