Anyone drive a new model version of these? Any major complaints?

My parents owned suburbans and silverados up until mid 2000s. Most would always have problems early on and seemed to have "cheap" materials for the interior. My Silverado was also, being fixed every 25k it seemed.

Have they gotten better?

I have found GM products tend to have cheap looking interiors in the past, but they seem to be trying to improve (at least based on interior photos of SOME of their vehicles of late).

Got my new model Yukon shortly after they came out. I don't like theat there is no way to raise or lower the 3rd row other than by the rear lift gate. Minor issue but an inconvenience nonetheless. It's possible they have addressed this in newer year models.

Haha! I've got a buddy that has had 3 Tahoe's since '08. Never had any issues with them. He upgrades to a newer model every couple of years.

Had a 2005 Silverado 2500. Never an issue. 6L Vortec 4x4. Loved that truck.

My cousin had a Tahoe around the same time then later got the Silverado Duramax Diesel. He never had problems either and his mom (my aunt) still drives new Suburbans every 4 years for 30 years now.

Nothing like dropping 45k on a vehicle and not being able to read the buttons on the air conditioner 12 months later

Can anyone enlighten me how they don't hold their value compared to Toyotas?

B/c Toyotas make better vehicles.

Can't answer that.
But I assure you they hold their value versus anything American.

Because you can't change the rear windshield wiper without a degree in engineering from LSU, and they no longer come with the 30A edition upgrade. Only base model available in LA.

Had 08 Tahoe. Mechanically it was solid. I put 175K miles on it. Interior was crap, fell apart. Dash cracked, buttons peeled, windows stopped working, doors held water, etc.

Traded for Sequoia.

Had a feeling it was that simple.

My main reason for asking is bc the wife's highlander flooded and we need a new SUV. But we need one that is user friendly for having 3 kids under 4. The sizes of these seem to be the only option. I'd go with the Seqouia but they're redesigning them next year.

Had a 2011 Tahoe after driving an Expeditions for years. Work buys them and I'm just glad to have a vehicle.
Like the Tahoe much better than the Expeditions. Got a 2015 ls and did not really like it, but traded for a 2016 LT and it is much nicer interior and ride with larger wheels. Also gets much better gas mileage than the wife's pilot.

They did major interior upgrades in 2015. Not cheap looking at all.

Get Weathertech liners. They make seat covers too. You'll thank me later.
