Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Square toed shoes are for women. You ever seen a cowboy wear square toed boots? I didn't think so.

Why wear square toed boots as opposed to traditional boots? Trendy?

Cowboy boots are for men what high heels are for women.

I see it everyday in my part of the country which is Southwest Texas. Square toe boots are worn by many cowboys/ranch hands. If they are on horseback not so much because of the saddle stirrups. They even wear cowboys hats with square toe boots. Can you believe it?

I see square toed all over the place here in Houston. Just bought my first pair and they are even more comfortable than my ropers.

Square toed shoes are trendy. Cowboy boots are not trendy. Thus, the two should not go together.

There are articles in GQ magazine about square toed shoes. Need I say more?

I think people should wear what they want. I don't personally care for them on nice boots, but to each his own.

These are the boots I'm leaning towards now. Tony Lama Full Quill Ostrich.
Tony Lama

But I'm really thinking about getting a pair of the Tecovas Earl boots also. At the price, you just cant pass them up.

If you had just said you didn't care for them personally people wouldn't be ragging on you.

I'm kind of the same way...I personally like the snip toe. Slight square, but still the traditional narrow toe

'm Looking to get a new pair of cowboy boots for myself. I am wanting an ostrich skin boot. In my searching I ran across this Tecovas brand. They claim to be made in Mexico and sell direct to consumer. Anyone have any experience with these or a similar site.
