Just bought my wife the fully loaded 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring.
We really love it. A lot of fun to drive and very luxurious on the inside. And I like the look of it on the outside too.
ETA:
We got white with the white leather interior and all the bells and whistles

My wife's aunt has a Venza that is a really nice crossover...unfortunately, they have discontinued them...so 2015 is their last model year.
I would concur on the Murano statements that they are sporty and nice as well. My parents have one that is very nice...but they are a bit noisy (both engine noise and road noise).
Mazda's quality has improved greatly, so any of the CX series (whatever size you want) is probably a good move.
With all of that being said, I really like the Buick Enclave. They aren't too cheap...the base is listed at $39K, so expect on paying around $45 ($50 for a Premium Package. They are big, with great interiors and are very quiet.

Screw you, you miserable bitch.

Looking at something that can handle cruising at 75-80 mph without the engine sounding like it's going to explode.
May want to broaden your criteria. Most cars can do that.

Mazda has put out some nice cars recently.
I have one of these...

90% of the suggestions I here are SUVs, not crossovers.
We have a Ford Explorer as our main family vehicle and decided to get a crossover that could fit a car seat.
We narrowed our choices down to a Buick Encore and Subaru Crosstrek. Decided to go with the Subaru because I like the way it handled with AWD.
I use it as my daily vehicle now, not the most power in the world but I have no problem driving 75mph on the interstate everyday.
