6:17 a.m. - The right lane has opened and now the left lane is blocked on LA 1 South at the Intracoastal Bridge due to a crash. Expect heavy delays.

6:47 a.m. - The left lane is blocked on I-10 West at LA 73 (Prairieville) due to a crash. Traffic is backed up about three miles.

7:01 a.m. - The left lane remains blocked on LA 1 South at the Intracoastal Bridge due to a crash. There are heavy delays on LA 1 South and I-10 West.

7:03 a.m. - All lanes are open on I-10 West at LA 73 (Prairieville). Traffic is backed up about seven miles.

7:17 a.m. - All lanes are now open on LA 1 South at the Intracoastal Bridge. Heavy delays remain on LA 1 South and I-10 West.

7:30 a.m. - The right lane is blocked on I-10 East before Washington Street due to a stalled vehicle. Delays start about two miles before LA 415.

Same shite from the same shitty drivers, different day.

i don't understand all the brake hitting.

just coast slowly instead of accerlate to ludicrous speed, slam on brakes, wash, rinse, repeat

Amazing that a wreck southbound off of the interstate on the other side of the river brings traffic all the way to a crawl throughout most of Baton Rouge.

you are absolutely correct. a wreck on a highway across the river backs up interstate traffic considerably throughout the heart of Baton Rouge!

If you called it the Horace Wilkinson Bridge, nobody would know what you're talking about.

I have come to believe that the bridge is the epicenter of some strange Bermuda Triangle type force that causes vehicles to swerve into other cars and flip over. The force extends across Baton Rouge but is strongest at the bridge where care inexplicably run into the railings at all times of the day.

I don't have a good name for this phenomenon yet but I am working on it. It is the only explanation.

Yeah - I remember running from the ROTC building to the "new bridge" in 1988.

Good times...

if he isn't trying to cross the bridge he did in fact win. people were getting off at essen to avoid it and they messed up jeff hwy traffic. I should have taken highland to college instead.

Here's my reason for occasionally getting involved in this mass act of stupidity - all these stupid asses driving out there think I'M the problem and start lane splitting, threading, weaving, like they're on a fricking crotch rocket instead of cars and light trucks - so, I'm leaving my space and coasting at a steady speed, when Mr. Jackass Drivingachevytruck swerves in front of me, eats my spacing and slams on his brakes.

Sooooooo, frick HIM. I'm riding the guy's bumper from now on and nobody else gets in.

"An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind." Damned straight, Professor.

I do the same thing.
pisses me off that I can't just relax going 15 mph knowing I don't have to brake every 3 seconds.

No because the people of Louisiana are smart enough to realize that if you dump 31" of rain in 36 hours anywhere in the U.S. that area is going to be fricked.
