Not as big as the Shreveport facility

There will be facilities like this in every city eventually.

It's kind of hilarious that Republicans are tripping all over themselves to give Bezos money to do something he would do anyway only to have him put money into organizations that work against them.

Well to be fair, it's democrats that's doing that here in Baton Rouge.

The mayor is a democrat.

The town council that approves all the plans for Amazon Cortana is democrat majority.

The Governor who controls LED is a democrat.

Sure sure, but Republicans love this economic development shite and were celebrating it. Many threads were about how Democrats were going to ruin it. They weren't exactly in the "just let government stay out of it" camp. Let's be real, they probably would have thrown more resources at Amazon for the publicity and photo ops.

This is happening ALL OVER the place, though.

820K sq. ft. according to this Amazon press release. Other articles mention the 3.5 m number though. What am I missing?

Strange, I know it’s the Amazon site but every other number has been different except for that article

I think traffic on Airline Hwy. is going to be a nightmare. I think it will be a mess North and South to the interstate. I’m sure Baton Rouge will figure it out a few years after it’s been open. Where are all the trucks going to go?

I hope they install a white PVC pipe right above the front entrance for the sake of nostalgia.

The EBR metro council holds a 7-5 Republican majority. Pretty sure the makeup of the planning comm. largely conservative as well.

Doesn’t mean they are any smarter than their Democrat counterparts though, just maybe not as corrupt.

Thanks for the heads up.

That's a brain fart on my part.

If anything, GOP majority on the council just makes my outlook on BR worse considering the shape that the town is in.

Used to be a cool 90’s mall, now taken over by Amazon. I hate this timeline.

They still have to finish Gravy’s apartment and Kibbles’ office for her salt lamps.
