Any recommendations for minivans? I'm looking at a Honda Odyssey, but they're fairly expensive. Budget is $15k. I'd like to get something under 100k miles so I can get a good deal on a warranty, but it's not a requirement.

I wouldn't buy an extended warranty. They are worthless.

Where you live? I shopped around a long time. I bought a Toyota sienna. It was 3 years old with 34k miles for 20k.

You can find one in your price range easy. Use auto trader or cars.com to find.

I love my minivan. The Odysseys were nice. Better fuel mileage by a bit. Quieter but smaller interior. Toyota fit me better and had more middle room. Hauls arse. Easy to drive. Less blind spots.

Those are really the o ly two choices. Kias new vans are nice as well. Stay away from Nissan's

The Honda Odyssey is one of the most practical vehicles around. Don't even need a family. Drive that shite as a single male. It's the new Subaru. Toyota even makes their Sienna minivan in AWD now. For people not worrying about looking cool, they are great vehicles. The Odyssey is the best in the class though.

The only time I'd be driving a minivan would be off of the side of a bridge.

Warranty companies are extremely hard to deal with, and you've got to fight with them on everything

the only bang for your buck in that range is a dodge/chrysler.

You could probably get a 2014 fully loaded chrysler T&C with around 50k miles near that price.

I'd recommend sticking to 2014 or later if you go dodge/chrysler because they have the upgraded brakes and the engine/transmission looks to the best out there right now. Odysseys still have transmission problems and the Siennas are just too pricey.

The O-T would recommend a bus pass with this budget.

Checking in.

There is a TON of room in these things and they are great on trips. Most practical vehicle I've ever owned, and I also owned a truck for for 20 years.

Wife and I had a Honda Odyssey a few years ago when our son was smaller and had tons of stuff to carry around. Great vehicle that can carry as much crap as a midsize pickup. Had the DVD and all that which made long trips go by quick.

Just get a Suburban. Don't give up on life with a minivan.

I've had the Oddyssy and Sienna. I like the Sienna. I feel the kids get in and out of that easier and it sits a little different on the road. But, you can't go wrong with either.

You can buy two minivans for the price of one suburban these days, and it still won't be as efficient at moving children around.
