Any idea what the approx cost to replace 2 large colonial style white stucco columns on my front porch to 2 regular 6x6 or 8x8 stained or painted wood columns. They have been pretty Nasty around the bases for a while and the flood waters have them completly molded and I'm worried about the wood under the stucco.

Less than $1500-$2000 depending on what species of wood you go with for the coulmns. I'd go with aluminum columns and case it with cedar or cypress then stain it if you want the wood look.

For just two posts it might be less than $1000. If you were to do it yourself you could probably do it for less than $200. Matching paint might be the hardest part in any case.

I added (2) 7x7x10 cypress posts on my back patio for $300, stained them myself though

Yep I would ditch the stucco and go with cypress. Much cheaper and will probably last a lot longer.

If you post your dimensions and your preferred material one of us could size it for you.

Can you add a pic of your porch, instead of your across street neighbors house?

What finish do you want? Go back with stucco or wood wrap around steel or wood column, or just an exposed wood column?

Never mind the flower beds, you can see the mold and mildew that formed since the flood.
