It is real. Very serious trouble for teens who do this. I think it is wrong. Most teens do stupid things and it shouldn't be on their record for life.

I'll be honest. If I found out some little shite was doing that with my daughter, I'd go after him if I could.

There you have it. Give him a fine or probation and call it a day.

That is ridiculous. This isn't a sex offender act unless the girl didn't want the pics but if she was trading with him then frick that noise.

yet if they have actual sex it's not illegal.?

this is so very wrong. they are the same age and a couple??

if it's between the two of them it should be private. even if the phone was taken during class.

It was explained to me that this will help discourage sexting photos to prevent juveniles from making dumb decisions that could have very negative affects.

Not sure how I feel about it even being a law but the registration is bullshite

Why should the government take on parenting responsibilities?

If having nudes of high school girls on your phone is wrong then I don't want to be right.

Wait a second.

So if a 17 year old gives another 17 year old a playboy magazine, it's fine, but if he takes a pic of a naked chick in playboy and texts it to his 17 year old friend, he has to register as a sex offender?

The whole registered sex offender deal will lose its stigma when everybody has to register for dumb shite like this.

This is one of the biggest issues. The whole point of the sex offender registry is supposed to be to protect people from predators, but if it's just filled with teens who sexted or high schoolers who had sex with people a few years younger than them then it loses it's importance.

There should be another category for this. Not sex offender who might want little Sally or little Timmy.

Total dick move.

I have a 12 year old daughter and anything like this would make me sick but I couldn't see ruining a kids life if she was a willing participant.
