She should of just gone and got a script for opiates like everyone else...

I wonder why they didnt charge anybody and i guess they had been sitting on the info of all the people that had plants.

Because it was one plant and an 81 year old woman. How do you like your tax dollars spent? Dumbass

To make the scene even more hilarious, being that possession of marijuana is not a criminal offense in Mass, she wasn't charged with any crimes.

Same reason people bitched when other bullshite inhumane government overreach asinine laws were enforced.

You know, like the legal ability to beat a woman or rape her or slavery or prohibition or lynch mobs, or genocide....

Holcomb said he was told that as long as he did not demand that a warrant be provided to enter the property or otherwise escalate the situation, authorities would file no criminal charges.

“’We just want the illegal contraband,’” Holcomb recalled the officer saying.

They dont give a shite about the legality of the weed. The state just wants their federal kickback money for turning in live plants. Legal theft.

But they didnt. If they had, people would have been arrested. It was entirely about the opportunity for revenue while that opportunity (briefly) still exist.

Laws are enforced without arrests all the time. I fail to see the problem here with the lack of a custodial arrest.

My issue is federal funds/federal agency being used in what should be a state issue.

Call me crazy. But I'd rather see the government collect tax revenue on reefer, then spent money fighting it.

The only reason the state did anything here is because the feds essentially paid them to. It's all about the money.

That's also the reason why most LEO are against legal MJ- it will reduce probable cause across the board, leading to less seizures, less busts, less overtime, less people in jail, and less LEO being employed in general.

Why kill the golden goose when you don't have to?

So on the afternoon of Sept. 21, a team of Massachusetts State Police and Massachusetts National Guard troops sent a helicopter, several vehicles, and a handful of troopers to Holcomb's house to chop down the plant and haul it away in a pickup truck.

The officers participating in this have to feel like complete morons.

Why? They still got paid for the day's work.

Maybe not complete morons, but they had to feel like it was a teeny bit overboard. Could have sent a couple officers instead of Seal Team 6.

Most likely. Do you think that more or less states would fund this if they were footing the bill? I say less. Talk and politically grandstand, yes. No to actually funding it.

The rest of your argument just isn't relevant.

Is that why the Sheriff's Association always lobbies bills in legislature to keep MJ illegal? Or why they always fight the legislature whenever a bill banning civil asset forfeiture comes up?

It's all about the money. Protecting the public takes a back seat to staying employed.
