Anyone feel Natchez isn't/hasn't marketed itself as a destination city for quaint bed & breakfast options in addition to historical sites, restaurants and boutique shopping compared to a Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, Fairhope, AL and Fredericksburg, TX just to name a few.

Yes.

Absolutely. I had the chicken parm there just a couple of weeks ago. The line is around the block on Valentine's Day.

Natchez has the Pilgrimage, which is like all the pretentious crap of Mardi Gras without any of the fun stuff.

Hwy 84 is practically an interstate connecting Brookhaven to Natchez to Alex.

Shame to hear that.

Corner Bar used to have great bloody Mary's. And the Knock You Naked margaritas at Fat Mama's used to damn near do that. But last time it had one at their new location, it was frozen kool aid.

Just visited Natchez for the first time this weekend. It was great, loved the restaurants and pilgrimage but was running out if things to do toward the end

Would definitely go back

The paper mill closed in the 90s and absolutely crusher the town'so economy.
Just in the past 5 years they've been doing a lot of work to revamp the downtown area.

It's not flashy, but every single building downtown has history to it and a cool story, it just takes a little more digging to find than the big tourist areas.
Beautiful plantations and B&Bs in the area though.

Most of the B&B's, shops and restaurants are owned by gays in Natchez.

According to Greg Ilses books, a tire place and a paper company closed to start the ball rolling downhill from when oil crashes in the 80's.
