That's a Lanier Glider. Only 300 were ever made, they stopped making them due to wing failure.

Boeing Dash-80 prototype of the Boeing 707. Actually it was the prototype of the KC-135, but the airframe served both military and civilian needs quite famously and in various military iterations, still does.

Ya its because everyone cheated and used google reverse image search. There is a 150+ page thread that has been going on the last 2 weeks or so where people post pics of historical stuff and Darth answers every single one and people think he is a genius. Its pretty pathetic!

Idk, that event is pretty well known. It was on History Channel, the old Military Network, and is in a lot of those facebook posts that are lists of OMG LOOK AT THESE 25 CRAZY THINGS lists.
Maybe it's just me. I personally saw it a few years ago on a commercial/promo on one of those networks that interviewed the pilots son and he talked about how everyone sat in amazement.
