if I had a son i would have named him George Browning. (Browning is maternal family name) I loved the name Jackson until it became overused. We had a daughter, and named her Claire. Congrats and best wishes to you - becoming a parent will trigger every emotion you have to the fullest.

Need to know the last name to choose a name that flows.
If you want a better sounding name don't have the first name end on the same sound as the start of the last name. (e.g. Ross Smith)
If you do this people will have to pause between the names and it's frustrating.
Number of syllables is important too. Too few or too many doesn't flow as well.
Don't have first and last names rhyme either. I knew a lady named her daughter Callie Allie.
Look at every permutation of the name to get something that will always sound good. How do these sound:
First, middle, last
First, last
First, middle initial, last
First initial, last
First initial, middle, last
First initial, middle initial, last
tl;dr: Think it through unless you want your kid to have a dumb sounding name.
