I might have to hook her up with the window unit!
Seriously, I don’t know how people are making it without ac in the car driving around in this heat. I tried putting freon in her car but just warm air coming out so I’m not looking forward to the repair cost.

Don't be dumb here. Put her in your car and you take the heat, literally. The guilt will have her sucking your golf ball through the water hose.

The older civics and accords are pretty decent. I have the newer civics. Stay away from those. They have a lot of AC issues

I’ve seen videos on YouTube of mechanics who are quitting because the newer cars are harder to work on and not made well like past vehicles.

May be just the compressor clutch. Not to bad of a fix.

Hopefully the compressor just isn't getting power due to the mg/clutch relay being bad. Here's to hoping you're lucky.

Nah, they just need the right diagnostic tools. Without those, they're dead in the water. Repairs are easy now. The computer is very accurate to the exact problem.

Compressor probably went out, can you tell if it’s engaging?

Yeah especially if indicator was showing that it was charged. If it wasn't showing it was charged it's a possible leak but more likely the AC compressor.

You've been misinformed. The "computer" points you in the right direction but reading and interpreting the data is up to the mechanic. Knowing what tests to run is up to the mechanic. The difficult part in today's mechanic job is the diagnostics. The easy part is replacing the parts once the diagnosis is made. The correct diagnosis is critical and a shop is fortunate if they employ one really skilled diagnostician. I can't tell you how many vehicles I diagnosed and repaired that had gone elsewhere prior to coming to me . Codes were pulled and parts were replaced;however, the vehicle was not fixed. Some of it is easy but not nearly all of it.

I had the previous generation (2004) and had an ac problem. Just a relay switch. Like $8. You always hear, “did you check the fuses?” And it’s never the fuses. Well, it just might be the fuses this time. I know of 2 other accords that the relay was the fix. For one of them, my buddy drove it for 6 months thinking the compressor needed replacement. Hope that’s all you need. Too damn hot to not have ac

I will definitely buy a new relay switch and see what happens.
