In your example you claim that anyone in a plane can be a pilot. We know that is incorrect because a pilot (notice the use of "a", signifying a noun) requires licences and certification. because this subsection of the population cannot be represented by ANY person selected at random your statement is factually incorrect.

Like I said, the fact you are an attorney and have difficulty with simple English is astounding.

shite, I wish I would have repeated kindergarten. I was one of the younger kids in my grade, I didn't turn 18 until 2 months after graduation. My kindergarten teacher recommended to my parents that I be held back based on maturity. I guess my mother thought that being held back in k-5 suggested something about intelligence and sent me on because I was a bright kid. I think that the extra year and confidence I would have gained from being a year older would have done wonders for me academically in the long run. I always had trouble in high school prioritizing schoolwork until I got older.

I personally know 5 families who held their kid back in K-5 an extra year or waited to start them until they were six. They all cite the exact things you discussed.

Kid's aren't as dumb as we think. They'll know it if you're trying to bullshite them. This will make them lose respect for you as well as teach them that it's OK to be dishonest. Tell them what you're doing and why you're doing it.
