As a basketball official for many years, I wish more parents would have the attitude of this father. It's sad to see the pressure some parents put on their young child.

Nate doesn't look like an athlete...he better get used to riding the pine.

NBA stars are always demanding the ball. Lebron isn't happy sitting on the bench so long as he can support the team.

This kid might be an equipment manager one day.

Sounds like he needs to spend more time working on his kid's jumper instead of blogging click bait for stay at home mini van drivers.

Good article. Parents are the very worst thing about athletics. Many erode the team concept, put undue pressure on their child, and undermine the coach.

I really thought that was heading toward "My kid was run over by a drunk driver today." Was disappointed.

Reminds me of that great sports philosopher who said "if you're not first, you're last".

Ricky something-or-other was his name.

I'm using Friday Night Tykes as a guide for raising my young son Noah to be a man who thrives both in athletics and life. Actually considering moving my family from Monroe to San Antonio so he can play for the Outlaws.
