I don't believe you. I've been told by Biden we're going to Build Back Better.

Well, unless you're a US citizen stuck in Afghanistan. Then you'll just have to die. Gotta break a few eggs and all that jazz!

I am pretty frugal and there are plenty things that I can go without. But one thing that I don’t mind spending money on is being comfortable in my own house. I’ll cut back somewhere else to keep the thermostat at 69° when I sleep.

Be glad it has not been very hot in La. this year or the bills would be 50% higher. I imagine some of the cost increase is from the hurricanes last year. Hurricane recovery costs were likely added to the bills this year too.
Natural gas costs are higher this year, so the fuel costs would have increased.

Nope. It’s about getting ripped off. Why give money to someone else’s pocket?

It’s about $5 a day to not have to sit in ball sweat.

I’ll pay it.

I don’t know where you live, but in SETX (and in South LA), you should expect your energy bill to be up a third in July/August compared to November.

This amount is trivial to me. Do better so this amount is trivial to you as well. I did.

Entergy (and maybe other utilities) spread out the spike from the February freeze. Should drop off in a month or two. Also, the 2020 storm charges will be added soon (if they haven’t already) but some older storm recovery charges will be dropping off.

frickin Biden and liberal voters. Let's curb drilling and emissions a few % in the U.S. while China continues to spew out twice the CO2.

It’s no wonder everyone is up in arms over this.

That’s a separate line item. The major jump in everyone’s bill is in the cost per unit of energy.

Mine was $400. The real shitter is that my water/sewer/garbage more than doubled. I had a slight leak in my pool pump that I didn’t address. I was flabbergasted when I saw my bill almost $300. I would love someone to explain the whole water/sewer billing process in EBR. I think it’s a complete ripoff.
