If you think it will make her last hours better...sit with her.

If you think that it will simply be more of her suffering...you know what you need to do.

It seems like most people I know have had a pet that has died of cancer.

Is that linked to the tap water they drink?

Sorry about your pup

My only advice is to just be there with her. Pet her and talk to her letting it know you love her.

I have no real good advice, but I would try to be with my pet as much as possible during that time, but if she is in so much pain she won't lay down, it's probably time to put her down, as I hate to see pets suffer.

I realize your parents may want to be there as well, and if so, try to comfort her as much as possible. Best of luck. It's one of the worst.

It's been around a long time. Inbreeding = more problems. Get a mutt. Dogs are getting better care now which they live longer too!

OP, it would be best if you put your pup down.

TL;DR: My very sick dog is restless (she won't lay down) and I don't know how to comfort her as she seems she wants to be left alone.

Sorry to hear that

Sounds like you just want to keep her sedated.

Call vet see if they will give you something Besides Benadryl. Call these people or do a search on your city sounds like he is suffering. This group is great. Sorry about your pup.

Natural human compassion seems to fail us during this time. As it is untreatable, you likely should have made the right decision the last time you were at the vet - consensus is - it is better to end the dog's suffering a little too early than a little too late and you may have already crossed that line.

Max was great until the end - he jsut couldn't walk - I honestly didn't know nothing could be done until they brought him back from the vet. We had one more good day with him and let him eat an entire box of milk bones. His eyes were still clear and he wasn't in a whole lot of obvious pain but he was so tired.

Sorry to hear about your dog. That's a tough spot. Feed her a good meal and comfort her. That being said...

Why did you go to the ER to have someone clean your wound?
